Doing a Good Turn

Boy Scout Troop 290 based in the Almaden area of San Jose did a collective good turn on Saturday May 2nd.  The troop collects and recycles bottles and cans and normally uses the funds to pay for a “fun” troop activity like laser tag or mini-golf.  Rather than indulge in a fun activity, the Senior patrol decided to do a good turn for local first responders.  Assistant Senior Patrol Leader (ASPL) Nolan H. spearheaded the effort by coordinating with fellow senior patrol members, El Camino Hospital in Los Gatos and a local restaurant Blue Rock BBQ.  Senior Patrol Leader, Parthiv S. worked with the patrol leaders to write numerous thank you cards which were delivered with the meals.  Upon learning what the troop was doing, the restaurant’s owner provided a discount allowing the troop to purchase more meals for the hospital staff.  Thank you!
